AGAPE LOVE WOMEN'S REFUGE
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” - Psalm 46:1

About Mary
Mary Tierney serves as the Ministry Coordinator for Agape, where she is passionate about building meaningful partnerships with local churches and faith communities. Mary’s husband, Jason, is the Associate Pastor at Hartford Baptist Church, where she serves and worships alongside him. Mary works to cultivate relationships that strengthen support for women seeking safety, hope, and healing from domestic violence.
With a heart for ministry and community engagement, Mary connects churches with opportunities to serve through volunteerism, prayer, donations, and outreach initiatives. She believes the local church plays a vital role in restoring lives and creating compassionate communities where survivors are seen, supported, and empowered.
Through her work with the Agape Refuge, Mary is committed to fostering collaborative relationships that extend the shelter's mission and ensure every woman who walks through the doors experiences the love, dignity, and hope she deserves.
Mary’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:4, which reminds us to choose joy regardless of our circumstances. Mary lives by this quote & will work diligently to help the women she works with to find the strength in God’s joy, which is always timely.
