AGAPE LOVE WOMEN'S REFUGE
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” - Psalm 46:1

About Kayla
Kayla Smith is a redeemed daughter of God, an overcomer of an 18-year drug addiction, a survivor of domestic violence, and someone who has walked through seasons of homelessness. Through the mercy and restoring power of Jesus Christ, her life has been transformed from brokenness to purpose — and her testimony stands as a living reminder that no one is too lost for God to reach and no story is beyond His redemption.

When the Lord placed the vision of Agape Love Women’s Refuge on Kayla’s heart, she knew He was calling her to stand in the gap for the women who are where she once was — to be for them what she never had. With compassion, transparency, and unwavering faith, Kayla leads a ministry dedicated to helping women encounter the unconditional love, safety, and hope that she herself found in Christ. Her mission is simple and Spirit-led: To reach the other “me’s” — the overlooked, the hurting, and the searching — and to love them back to life through Jesus.

Beyond her role at Agape, Kayla faithfully attends Longview General Baptist Church, where she serves as the Wednesday night leader for the 9-12 year-old youth group. Pouring into the next generation is a calling she holds dear, sharing God’s love, truth, and encouragement with young hearts as they grow in their faith. Kayla is joyfully married to her husband, Tim, and together they are blessed to raise five beautiful children. She is also a proud crazy chicken momma and a devoted rescue dog momma — a small reflection of the nurturing heart God has given her. Her life is a testimony that God restores, rebuilds, and sets captives free, and that His love writes the most powerful redemption stories as she lives out her favorite scripture, Psalm 40:2: “He brought me up out of the pit of destruction… and set my feet upon a rock.”

Kayla’s lived experience and dedication to providing a safe space for women in crisis have made her an outstanding vessel for the Lord to build a refuge that reflects His unconditional love. She is the heart of Agape Love Women’s Refuge.
